Winwood played Hammond organ on the Jimi Hendrix ‘Electric Ladyland’ album track ‘Voodoo Chile’. He also had a successful solo career with hits including ‘While You See a Chance’, ‘Valerie’, ‘Back in the High Life Again’ and during the late 80s two US No.1 hits ‘Higher Love’ and ‘Roll with It’.
