2/13/1950 – Peter Gabriel, singer-songwriter, record producer, with Genesis and solo. Gabriel left Genesis in 1975 to launch his solo career and had the 1986 US No. 1 single ‘Sledgehammer’ from the album ‘So’. Gabriel has been a champion of world music for much of his career. He co-founded the WOMAD festival in 1982.
