10/13/1947 – Sammy Hagar, vocalist, guitarist, songwriter. Sammy came to prominence in the 1970s with the band Montrose. He replaced David Lee Roth of Van Halen in 1985 and left the band in 1996. He founded the Cabo Wabo Tequila brand and restaurant chain, as well as Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum.
