Big Jake

Originally from Appleton but have spent 10 of my 26 years on this earth living in and around the Milwaukee area. I have been working in radio since I was but a wee lad, cutting liners for various Northeastern Wisconsin radio stations at the age of 5. I guess you can say I was bitten by the radio bug very young, as I spent the next 20+ years trying to amass a career in radio. Starting with entry-level promo positions at the age of 19, I have somehow worked my way onto the mic in Green Bay, Boston, and San Antonio; and now I am beyond excited to have landed back in the glorious 414.

Don’t let the age fool you, I’ve been raised on good rock since I was born. My first concert ever was REO Speedwagon at the Fox Cities PAC in Appleton back in 2008. Seeing legends like RUSH, Def Leppard, Alice Cooper, Tesla, Motley Crue, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Chicago all before I was in high school really shaped my personality as I became the weird music nerd in school.

When I’m out of the studio you can catch me playing drums with my band Paper Valley, playing my PS2, at a local dive probably butchering Springsteen karaoke, on a hike, in a tent in the woods, or just sitting on a rock by a body of water listening to “Going to California” on repeat while I Zen out. Hit me up on social media, I’d love to chat!
