Dorene Discovers Packing Economically (4/2/26)
How did Dorene find an effective way to not overpack her suitcase for a trip?
The year I turned 50 marked a profound turning point. With my children grown and the house suddenly quiet, I found myself in a funk. Then, I came across the story of a woman in England who committed to doing something new every day. A simple thought changed everything: I could do that too.
Three years later, I was living a life I never imagined possible. I ran my first 5K, went skydiving, got a tattoo—and discovered courage I didn’t know I had. Even more meaningful were the people I met along the way. By saying yes to new experiences, I found myself deeply connected to my community, uncovering passions, stories, and possibilities in others and myself.
After completing now over 700 new experiences, I emerged changed—wiser, braver, and profoundly grateful. Thanks to the generosity of those who opened doors, shared their stories, and walked alongside me, this journey didn’t end; it evolved.
Today, I share what I’ve learned with audiences everywhere, inspiring them to step beyond fear, rediscover purpose, and embrace what’s possible at any stage of life.
I hope to share that inspiration with you.
