Toby Keith raises millions for tornado victims

Country singer Toby Keith has helped to raise $2 million for Oklahoma tornado victims, following a charity gig this past summer.

The “American Soldier” hitmaker organised the benefit gig held in July at Memorial Stadium on the campus of the University of Oklahoma, and recruited his friends Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Willie Nelson, Ronnie Dunn and Sammy Hagar to help raise much-needed funds for recovery efforts in the state following the twisters that ripped through the area in May.

The concert drew 65,000 people, the highest tally of paying guests at the stadium, and, as of Tuesday, the total raised hit $2
million with some donations still being counted.

The money will go to a tornado relief fund run by officials at the United Way of Central Oklahoma.
