R&B singer Ne-Yo has stunned fans by revealing he was once married to his teenage sweetheart.

The “Let Me Love You” hitmaker, who declined to give the name of his ex-wife, tied the knot 11 years ago, but the marriage was doomed because his partner didn’t support his musical dreams.

When confronted by a TMZ photographer, who randomly asked Ne-Yo whether he had ever been married, he said, “Wait, actually yeah, when I was, like, 19. It was only for, like, a year; we got an annulment.”

He added, “I wanted to do this (be a singer), and she didn’t want me to do this, and this is honestly the only thing I’ve ever loved, so I choose this over her and now I’m here and I don’t know where she is.”

The 30 year old, real name Shaffer Smith, is now dating Monyetta Shaw, the mother of his two children, Madilyn, two, and Mason, one.
