Bobby Brown released from jail after nine hours

Bobby Brown has walked free from jail after serving just nine hours behind bars.

The New Edition singer surrendered to Los Angeles officials on Wednesday and began a 55-day sentence for drink driving charges.

However, Brown was released less than 10 hours after checking into L.A. County Jail.

According to TMZ.com, the singer was allowed to leave due to overcrowding in the prison.

Brown was handed the punishment in February after pleading no contest to charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and driving on a suspended license relating to an arrest in October.

The star is now on four years’ probation and must complete an 18-month alcohol education course.
